HortoSoft:
What is it?
It is an applicative
technique that,
through the use
of semi-rigid gas
permeable contact
lenses is able to
assist in controlling
myopic progression,
offering to the
wearer a higher
eyesight quality
and a comfort often
comparable to that
one of toric soft
lenses.
HortoSoft
uses productive
and design criteria
very similar to
those used for the
hortocheratologic
lenses (lenses with
inverse geometry
and the so called
sagittal technique)
to create semi-rigid
lenses with bigger
diameter than traditional
RGP lenses.
The
result is a better
eyesight, keeping
under control the
myopic progression
and everything with
an high comfort.

the use of COMPUTERIZED
CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY
and special design
tools, it is possible
to apply hortocheratologic
lenses according
to the real corneal
structure of every
single individual.
The result is a

of tests and times
of adjustment.

subjects appreciate
the greater comfort,
if they were wearers
of traditional RGP
lenses in the past,
and an improvement
of the visual quality,
if previous wearers
of soft lenses.

Unlike hortocheratologic
contact lenses (that
share the same sagittal
technique), HortoSoft
lenses do not cause
an appreciable change
of cornea (except
in expressly requested

to and wearing of

permeability to
oxygen of the used
material and the
unique “tear
reserve under the
lens” join

Contraindications
Contraindications
are the same as
those for who wants
to wear any kind
of contact lens
for the very first
time: ocular hyper
sensibility, current
ocular pathologies,
appearance of allergic
reactions and all
the medical contraindications
for the use of contact
lenses.
The comfort degree
perceived will depend
on the wearer’s
sensibility, however
tests show that
tolerability is
decisively higher
compared to the
traditional RGP
lenses.
According the D.M.
of February 3rd,
2003, it is important
to verify the absence
of contraindications
by the oculist,
in order to avoid
damages for eyes.
